BIOGRAPHY

Jason Citro has been composing and embracing the joy of music from a young age. From the moment he picked up his first guitar at the age of 6,  his father, who toured the East Coast as the leader of his own 17 piece big band orchestra, immediately noticed his son's talent for arranging notes into beautiful melodies. He began to study classical guitar in New Jersey and within the first few years, he was performing in classical recitals. At age 12 he also fell in love with the piano and started composing his first complete arrangements. His teenage years were influenced by Yngwie Malmsteen which Jason emulated in his own rock band, which performed at many of the popular night clubs in New York and New Jersey as well as appearing on radio and television.

While rehearsing and performing with his rock band by night, during the day Jason studied opera vocal techniques with coaches associated with Juilliard and The Metropolitan Opera. In his 20's Jason found his style in composing and recording adult contemporary music, which he recorded with one of New York City's top producers...Benjy King.

Soon after, Jason found his true passion in composing music inspired by large scale orchestral music of the late 19th century - specifically Wagner and his concept of leitmotif.
